A set of 48 'blobs' each with an addition calculation written on them.
 
Use alongside Dienes (tens and ones) resources. Children look at the question and then find the correct number of Dienes to find the total. These can act as legs, arms, feet, hair etc. If the children have more than ten ones, encourage them to exchange for a ten rod. 
 
Alternatively, children cut out their own blobs and stick to a piece of plain paper before drawing on the rods of ten and ones.
 
Half of the questions require exchanging, half do not.
 
 
Suitable for Key Stage One children (Years 1 and 2) and children in lower Key Stage 2 (Years 3 and 4) who may require extra practice.
